Welcome

Hello, my name is Dionne and I have been crafting for a very long time. As a very young child my mother tried to teach me to knit, it was a disaster. However, it must have sparked an interest in making things and, partly to prove that I was not totally useless and partly because I really wanted to make things, I taught myself to crochet. Over the years I have developed a love of cross stitch and all types of paper craft ..... I eventually even taught myself to knit.

I am married to a very understanding man, thank goodness, because I spend all my time either crafting, thinking about crafting or talking about crafting. I am hopeless at housework and dinner is often late!

Thank you for visiting my blog.

Good morning everyone.

What fabulous weather we are having in the UK at the moment, it seems particularly odd as I have been making Christmas Cards.  However, there was a reason why I was sticking faux snow to my cards on the hottest weekend of the year ...... today's new Crafty Boots Challenge, chosen by Amy, is all about birds.

After a couple of disastrous false starts with this Challenge I decided to make a start on my Christmas Cards.

All of the paper elements I used to create this stepper card, including the snowflake backing paper, came from the Polka Doodle CD Magical Winter.

The individual scenes look a little muddled here so I have photographed the 'steps' individually.

After printing the images I coloured them with Promarkers and used Polar White Flower Soft to create the snow effect and the fur trim on the robin's hat  The holly berries and ivy came from Wild Orchid Crafts.

The rest of the Design Team have been working really hard for this Challenge so please pop across to Crafty Boots Challenges and leave them some 'sugar'.  Isn't that what they say on  the other challenge sites?  What I mean is please pop across to their blog and leave a nice comment.

  3. Hi Dionne
Gorgeous stepper card! I love the cd-rom you used. I used it last year. I absolutely love that bird. The scene you created is amazing. Plus I love that flower soft. What a great effect it gives! I may have to go and google for some now.
The weather has been spectacular over the weekend but there is no sunshine today and it looks like it is going to rain any second :(

  4. Me again - Thanks for all your lovely comments, re printing SC images, sometimes you need to change your printing settings. On some images I too get shadowy dots but I find if I change to a higher quality of print they disappear. But you do have to then let it dry over night or heat set the ink. It all depends on your computer. I find if I take them in Craft Artist they don't print as well as when I use my computer printing set up. Funny. Have a play around with your printer settings, cos it's a shame. I know Krista's images are sent at a high quality so it has to be the printer settings that do it. Hope that helps. Zo xx
