Welcome

Hello, my name is Dionne and I have been crafting for a very long time. As a very young child my mother tried to teach me to knit, it was a disaster. However, it must have sparked an interest in making things and, partly to prove that I was not totally useless and partly because I really wanted to make things, I taught myself to crochet. Over the years I have developed a love of cross stitch and all types of paper craft ..... I eventually even taught myself to knit.

I am married to a very understanding man, thank goodness, because I spend all my time either crafting, thinking about crafting or talking about crafting. I am hopeless at housework and dinner is often late!

Thank you for visiting my blog.

Remembrance Poppies

Hi, I hope you had a good weekend.

It is Mid Challenge Reminder time for the 'Remembrance' challenge at Crafty Boots Challenges.

But before I get into that I wanted to tell you some very exciting news about Crafty Boots Challenges.  You may recall that a few weeks ago we celebrated our third anniversary.  It was a fantastic Challenge, loads and loads of entrants and an incredibly high standard.  The winner and both of the runners up of that Challenge are Guest Designers on Crafty Boots today.  Their work has left me virtually speechless, soooo amazing, you really have to go and see it for yourself.

As I said, the current Challenge is 'Remembrance'.  I realise that the Design Team are somewhat obsessed with images of red poppies but this Challenge is about so more than remembering those who died in the First World War, it is about remembering all of the wonderful people in our lives and also those special times.

I have to hold my hands up and confess that I have become addicted to colouring poppies, I just do not seem to be able to stop myself at the moment and I have another card to share with you today.

This wonderfully delicate poppy stamp is from Stampin' Up, I coloured it with Promarkers and then mounted it onto some gold mirri.  The backing papers are from DoveCraft and the poppy was made from glitter card and some black flat backed gems.

Please make sue you go and see all of the amazing projects on the Crafty Boots blog, which both the Guest Designers and the rest of the Design Team have made for today.

    1. Oh, thank you. My poppy cards needed a little something to finish them off but I did not have any flowers that looked like poppies. Then I remembered the poppies I made for those ATCs - I think I may have got a bit carried away with them now!

    1. Aw, thank you. I think I have got a bit addicted creating poppy themed cards, they are so lovely to colour. I had thought about a nice scrapbook page for today but it came out poppies again. Lol!
