Welcome

Hello, my name is Dionne and I have been crafting for a very long time. As a very young child my mother tried to teach me to knit, it was a disaster. However, it must have sparked an interest in making things and, partly to prove that I was not totally useless and partly because I really wanted to make things, I taught myself to crochet. Over the years I have developed a love of cross stitch and all types of paper craft ..... I eventually even taught myself to knit.

I am married to a very understanding man, thank goodness, because I spend all my time either crafting, thinking about crafting or talking about crafting. I am hopeless at housework and dinner is often late!

Thank you for visiting my blog.

Use a Sentiment Challenge

I hope you had a wonderful weekend.  We had a lovely time at the theatre on Saturday and then we went to visit an old friend yesterday.  The weather on the two days could hardly be more different.  Saturday was very cold with torrential showers all day and then, after a very cold night, yesterday was a beautiful spring day.

Today sees the start of a new Challenge at Crafty Boots, the theme for the next two weeks is 'Use a Sentiment'.  A bit of a no brainer really, I almost always add a stamped or shop made sentiment my cards.

My card today is a favourite Sylvia Zet digital stamp called 'Sweet Blossoms'.  I coloured the image with Promarkers and then mounted it on gold mirri and green card.  I did the same with a stamped Happy Birthday sentiment.

The backing paper is from Stampin' Up and the flowers are by Petaloo.  The doily and twine are from my stash.

If you are stuck for ideas, the Crafty Boots Design Team have been very busy making samples to inspire you, make sure you take a look at them.

Good luck.

    1. For me, because I use sentiments all of the time, this is more like a anything foes challenge and it lets me use some more of those favourite images.

I hope you are good and your are finding some sun.

  3. This is such a lovely card! I love the flowers especially. I am a big fan of flowers on paper crafts. The little girl coloring is so cute. You did a great job! You have more patience than me when it comes to coloring!

    1. Thank you. This is one of my favourite images (I have a lot), it is fun to colour - I love the legs.

I too use flowers on my cards a lot but it usually makes them difficult to post, so I do not use them all of the time, I try to keep the cards that need to go in the post a little flatter.
