Welcome

Hello, my name is Dionne and I have been crafting for a very long time. As a very young child my mother tried to teach me to knit, it was a disaster. However, it must have sparked an interest in making things and, partly to prove that I was not totally useless and partly because I really wanted to make things, I taught myself to crochet. Over the years I have developed a love of cross stitch and all types of paper craft ..... I eventually even taught myself to knit.

I am married to a very understanding man, thank goodness, because I spend all my time either crafting, thinking about crafting or talking about crafting. I am hopeless at housework and dinner is often late!

Thank you for visiting my blog.

A Christmas Lantern

Woohoo!  At last it is 'Christmas in July' time at Crafty Boots Challenges,

I just love the 'Christmas in July' Challenge, an excuse to get out my glitters and and shinny embellishments.

My Deign Team card today features a Delicious Doodles image called 'Christmas Lanturn'.  It is such a quaint, old fashioned, image.  It reminds me of the cards we received when I was a child.

I coloured the image with Promarkers and mounted it on alternating silver mirri card and white card.  Finally, I added a layer of silver glitter card.  The sentiment is from Craftwork Cards.

And whilst we are in a celebratory mood, happy Independence Day to all of my followers across the water.  I hope you have a great day.

Make sure you take a moment to pop over to Crafty Boots Challenges to see the beautiful designs from the rest of the Design Team.  We are looking forward to seeing your Christmas projects.

Good luck.

Dionne

PS  Apologies to anyone looking for this post yesterday, I accidentally hit publish before schedule, opps!

    1. This image is so old fashioned, it reminds me of the cards we received when I was a child. I made my cards for this challenge weeks ago, I get very excited about this challenge for some reason. Can't wait to see what you come up with.

  2. I absolutely love this image, it's just sooooo full of nostalgia with a bit of Narnia thrown in. It actually looks like printed colour rather than Promarkers!!!xx

    1. Doesn't it take you back? I had not made the Narnia connection but you are so right.

  3. Very nice card! It looks so vintage and the image is perfect. I like how it isn't cluttered with a lot of stuff. And, so weird to see Christmas cards right now lol. I like the silvery glittery background.

    1. Thank you. Christmas in July has become a bit of a tradition at Crafty Boots Challenges ... and it is a great way to get a few Christmas cards made before the pressure of the holiday starts.
