Welcome

Hello, my name is Dionne and I have been crafting for a very long time. As a very young child my mother tried to teach me to knit, it was a disaster. However, it must have sparked an interest in making things and, partly to prove that I was not totally useless and partly because I really wanted to make things, I taught myself to crochet. Over the years I have developed a love of cross stitch and all types of paper craft ..... I eventually even taught myself to knit.

I am married to a very understanding man, thank goodness, because I spend all my time either crafting, thinking about crafting or talking about crafting. I am hopeless at housework and dinner is often late!

Thank you for visiting my blog.

Aran Jacket

Thank you you for popping by today, how is your week going?  It is still cold here but I suspect the temperature has gone up just a tad.

I thought I would share a little chunky jacket with you today.  I am afraid that my photographic skills really let me down when it comes to knitted objects and I could really do with some tips on how present them to show them at their best.

It was quite a challenge for me to make this jacket as it had several stitches I had never tackled before, including a cable stitch,

I bought this DK pattern from ebay, it is only referred to at 'Knitting Pattern 398'.

  1. Oh wow!! This is great! Stunning work again. Such patience you have. Temperature has gotten a little warmer in my area as well...I cant wait for the Spring weather. I really dread cold weather. Who did you make this little coat for?

    1. Thank you. I made this for my new great niece. I actually made about a dozen little cardigans and jackets for her whilst my niece was pregnant. I still have most of them to post.

  3. Wow Dionne, I am floored over this one! How beautiful the pattern is, and it looks flawless! I wish I had the stamina for a hobby like this. I started a blanket about a decade ago, and just last year, I finally threw it away. Wonderful work my friend. Hope all is well, sending hugs :)
